Cookie policy

elementnetwork.online sets no cookies. This page explains what that statement means, what happens instead, and why you will not find a consent banner on any page here.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store and to send back on later visits, which is how a site recognises a returning browser. Cookies are used for useful things such as keeping you signed in, and for tracking, such as recording which pages a person has read across many sites.

This site sets none

No cookie is set by elementnetwork.online, and no third party is permitted to set one through it. Specifically, there is no analytics cookie, no advertising or conversion cookie, no tracking pixel, no session identifier, no embedded video or social media widget, and no consent management platform. No product is named in this policy because there is no product to name: the list of cookies used by this site is empty.

You can confirm it rather than take it on trust. Open your browser’s developer tools on any page here, look under storage or cookies for this domain, and the list will be empty.

A consent banner asks permission to place cookies. Placing none, there is nothing to ask permission for, and a banner that appeared anyway would be stating something untrue about this site. The absence of a banner here is the accurate outcome, not an oversight or a shortcut.

The same reasoning appears in the privacy policy: no consent basis is relied on for anything, because nothing that would require consent takes place.

What is recorded instead

One thing, and it happens below the level of the page. The hosting provider that serves these files keeps ordinary web server logs, which record the IP address a request came from, the browser’s user agent string, the URL requested, the response status and the timestamp. Those logs exist for security and diagnostics, are kept for no more than 30 days, and are not connected to any identity or used to build any profile. The privacy policy describes them in full, including who processes them and where.

Nothing else is recorded. There is no server-side session, no visitor counter, no heat map, no recording of how you scroll or where you click, and no log of which links were followed.

No browser storage, no fingerprinting

This site does not use localStorage, sessionStorage or IndexedDB, and stores nothing in your browser by any other means. It does not attempt device fingerprinting — the practice of identifying a browser from the combination of its settings, fonts and capabilities — and does not use any service that does.

The site loads no external resources at all. There is no web font from an external service, no script or stylesheet from a content delivery network, and no image served from another host. Every file a page needs comes from this domain, so no third party learns that you visited as a consequence of a page loading. The only JavaScript on the site is one short, readable first-party file that opens and closes the mobile menu and closes an open accordion when Escape is pressed; it stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere.

Controlling cookies in your browser anyway

Cookie controls are worth knowing about for the rest of the web even though they change nothing here. Every major browser lets you view the cookies stored for a site, delete them individually or in bulk, block third-party cookies, and clear everything when the browser closes. The settings sit under privacy or site data, and the browser’s own help pages describe the current version better than a summary here would. Blocking cookies entirely will break sign-in on many sites; blocking third-party cookies rarely breaks anything and removes a great deal of cross-site tracking.

If you want to check what other sites are doing, the developer tools method described above works anywhere, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner publishes general material on privacy online for readers in Australia.

If this ever changes

Should a cookie ever be needed on this site, three things will happen before it is set, not afterwards: this page will be updated to name the cookie, its purpose and its lifetime; the privacy policy will be updated to match; and a working consent mechanism will be in place for anything that is not strictly necessary. Until all of that is true, this page stands as written, and its effective date records when it was last checked against the site’s actual behaviour.
