Affiliate disclosure

Element Network carries paid links. This page explains who pays, on what event, where the links are, and what the money does and does not influence, in more detail than the short notices that appear beside the links themselves.

The arrangement

Creative Cover s.r.o., the publisher of this site, participates in an affiliate advertising programme for World of Warships. Under that programme, this publisher is paid a commission when a reader follows a tracked link from this site to the vendor’s destination, downloads the game and creates and activates an account. The commission is paid on that sign-up event by the advertising programme, not by the reader.

The reader pays nothing to this publisher at any point, and the terms offered by the vendor are the same whether a reader arrives through a link here or types the address into a browser. There is no discount, no bonus and no special arrangement attached to the links on this site, and none is claimed anywhere on it.

Where the paid links are

There are two paid links on this site, both pointing to the same destination:

Every one of them carries a line of text immediately beside it saying that it is paid. Each opens in a new tab and is marked in the page’s code with rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", which is how search engines are told the link is an advertisement. Every other link on this site — to Australian government bodies, to other entries here — is unpaid, and no arrangement of any kind exists with the organisations behind them.

The paid links point directly at the advertiser’s destination address. This site operates no redirect of its own: no /go/ path, no click-tracking hop on this domain, and no script that changes where a link points after the page loads. What appears in your browser’s status bar when you hover is where the link goes.

What the commission influences

It influences one thing: that this product is covered at all. The library contains one product entry, and it exists because a commercial relationship exists. That is the whole selection method, and stating it plainly is more useful than claiming an independence that the funding does not support.

It does not influence the content of that entry. The entry states what the advertising programme states and marks what it does not state; it declines to promote a bonus code whose stated lifetime has ended; it repeats the platform restriction, including that Linux is not supported, rather than burying it; and it tells readers to check the vendor’s system requirements and shop before downloading anything. None of those are the choices of a page written purely to convert.

It does not influence anything on the category entries. What a tech tree is, how latency works, what a randomised container is, how to report a scam in Australia — none of that changes according to who is paying, and none of it is written to lead anywhere. No entry on this site exists to carry a link.

What this site is not

  • It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any game publisher, developer or platform.
  • It is not an official, authorised or partner site for any product mentioned, and it is not a download source. The game is downloaded from the vendor, not from here.
  • It is not a review site with a ranking or a scoring system, and it does not claim to have tested anything.
  • It does not collect anything from readers. No form, no newsletter, no account, no cookie, no analytics — see the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

Disclosure and Australian law

Australian Consumer Law prohibits misleading or deceptive conduct in trade or commerce, and that obligation falls on a publisher as well as on an advertiser. Concealing a commercial relationship, or presenting advertising as though it were independent editorial judgement, is precisely the conduct that rule exists to prevent. The ACCC publishes guidance on advertising and selling, including how commercial relationships should be disclosed online, and readers who believe a site has fallen short of it can raise the matter there.

The approach taken here is to over-disclose rather than to meet a minimum: a visible notice near the top of the homepage, a line beside each paid link, this page, and a statement of the arrangement on the About page. If any of that is unclear, or you think a disclosure is missing somewhere, write to info@elementnetwork.online and it will be fixed.

If the arrangement changes

If this publisher enters an advertising arrangement with another product, that product’s entry will carry the same disclosure and this page will be updated before the entry is published. If the current arrangement ends, the paid links will be removed and this page will say so. The effective date at the top of this page records the last change to the arrangement described here.
